IT That Works
Wherever You Are

Secure connectivity, infrastructure and IT operations for organisations working across sites, sensitive environments and locations beyond a conventional office.

Wentland designs, deploys and supports the systems that keep people connected to their work, from financial offices and laboratories to transport depots, production facilities and remote sites.

Public Transport & Emergency

01 THE CONNECTION HAS TO FOLLOW THE WORK

Public Transport & Emergency

At base, the connection works. Out on the route, at a remote station or at a temporary response location, conditions can be different.

Transport and emergency teams need access that reflects where the work happens. Coverage gaps, congestion and disconnected systems can leave staff unable to retrieve or share the information they need.

Wentland engineers the supporting networks and secure access across fixed locations, mobile teams and connected equipment.

1

Connectivity across sites and moving teams

We design fixed and mobile connectivity, site-to-site networks and Wi-Fi, including multi-operator options where appropriate. We assess coverage and test how required applications behave when a connection changes, rather than relying on a signal indicator alone.

2

Separate access for different services

We separate staff devices, operational equipment, guest or passenger Wi-Fi and supplier access through network segmentation. Identity and device controls support authorised remote work without giving every connection the same reach.

3

Remote visibility and coordinated support

We connect sensors and cameras, monitor network and device status and establish secure access for technical support. Coordination with operators and equipment owners keeps responsibilities and escalation paths explicit.

Reliable Communications Should Always be Available Enroute

Transport and emergency teams need reliable communications wherever the work takes them, across depots, stations, vehicles, remote locations and temporary response sites.

Where specialist operational or emergency communications systems are involved, integration can be coordinated with the responsible communications teams.

Banking & Finance

02 CLIENT SERVICE SHOULDN’T DEPEND ON IT WORKAROUNDS

Banking & Finance

A relationship manager should not need to copy a client document locally because remote access is unreliable. Nor should an external provider need broad administrative access simply to maintain one service.

For banks, investment firms and family offices, information access, confidentiality and continuity need to be designed together.

1

Secure work across offices and remote users

We align identities, device protection and application access with the work people are authorised to do. Our expertise in Microsoft Entra, Microsoft Defender and Zscaler supports this integration across office and remote environments.

2

Continuity beyond the backup connection

We review the network, identity, application and provider dependencies behind essential services, then validate agreed failover and recovery scenarios. Another circuit or a backup copy is not assumed to be enough.

3

Operations that can be accounted for

We document access changes, support responsibilities and third-party dependencies, bringing daily administration and provider coordination into an operating model that internal IT and risk teams can oversee.

In Practice | International Investment Firm

For a 120-person international investment firm, Wentland progressively brought distributed teams into our Managed IT Solutions based on Global Workspace Wentland Switzer-Land (G2WS).

This solution combined specialised central support, a talented and dedicated team, proactive administration, cybersecurity, full device management, integrated communications aligned with FINMA requirement and fully tested daily backups with defined retention policies.

This project replaced fragmented local support, with ticketing systems with SLAs, access to modern and reliable IT solutions, and supported greater productivity across the business.

03 MODERNISE THE SYSTEM PRESERVE THE RECORD

Regulated Industries

A laboratory may depend on an ageing workstation that still supports an instrument. A clinical team may need sensitive records across several locations. An infrastructure change can therefore affect both daily work and the information that documents it.

In healthcare, life sciences and other regulated environments, data integrity, access and traceability need to be considered alongside service availability.

1

Data Protection & Information Handling

We align access, sharing, retention and recovery with the sensitive and confidential information. We connect governance decisions to existing Microsoft 365 and Purview controls, and architect and integrate advanced DLP and data protection measures to create a manageable, realistic and reliable approach to information handling.

2

Change Management

Before changing infrastructure around specialist applications or equipment, we map the dependencies. Implementation, testing, documentation and acceptance are agreed with internal IT, quality teams and suppliers.

3

Infrastructure That Fits the Operating Constraints

We design and maintain appropriate on-premise, cloud or hybrid environments. Network separation, controlled supplier access and recovery arrangements are considered around the services and records that must remain available.

Manufacturing

04 NETWORK FAULTS CAN CREATE PRODUCTION DELAYS

Manufacturing

A scanner loses its session between warehouse aisles. A supplier cannot reach the machine it needs to support. Production data arrives too late to support the next decision.

Manufacturing, food-processing and chemical sites need connected systems without assuming that equipment can be updated, restarted or replaced like office IT.

1

Networks Built For Working Areas

We engineer switching, Wi-Fi and site connectivity around production areas, warehouses and yards. Our Cisco and wider networking capability supports coverage planning, device mobility and the separation of office, guest and operational traffic.

2

Controlled Access to Production Environments

We define the connections needed between business IT, operational systems and suppliers, restricting remote access to its required purpose. Network changes are planned with plant and equipment owners around maintenance windows and legacy dependencies.

3

Infrastructure That Fits the Operating Constraints

We integrate sensors, monitoring and approved data interfaces so operational information can reach the people and applications that use it. We work on the supporting infrastructure and integration, with process-control and safety responsibilities retained by the designated specialists. Equipment choices and installation are agreed with site specialists where environmental or safety restrictions apply.

REMOTE SHOULDN’T MEAN OUT-OF-VIEW

Remote Sites & Mobile Operations

Farms, isolated facilities and temporary work sites may need remote oversight long before a conventional fixed connection is available. Mobile teams may also need access that changes location with them.

We combine internet access, local Wi-Fi and mobile connectivity with secure access and sensor integration. The requirement may be temperature readings, irrigation status, camera feeds or access to business applications.

Coverage, power, bandwidth and the behaviour of the service when connectivity is lost are considered together. The design should make clear what can continue locally and what depends on the connection.

In Practice | International Investment Firm

For an international farming producer with dispersed sites, Wentland designed connectivity using 4G routers capable of connecting through up to four network providers.

The environment supported temperature monitoring, cameras, watering systems and other sensors, giving the organisation remote visibility and control where conventional infrastructure was difficult to provide.

The result was more than internet access: the connected functions could be monitored and controlled without someone needing to be onsite.
